Old Papatoetoe Shopping Centre is a small mall located in the suburb of Papatoetoe, Auckland, New Zealand. It is situated on the corner of Great South Road and St George Street, in the heart of the historic town centre of Papatoetoe. Papatoetoe is one of the oldest suburbs in Auckland, with a history dating back to the 14th century, when it was an important area for Tamaki Maori, who used a waka portage between the Tamaki River and Waokauri Creek to reach the Manukau Harbour. The name Papatoetoe means “grounds where toetoe grows”, referring to species of Austroderia grasses that traditionally grew in the area. The area developed as a farming community in the 19th century, and grew significantly in the 1950s and 1960s after the Auckland Southern Motorway was constructed. Papatoetoe is now known for its significant population of Indian New Zealanders, with 40 percent of the suburb’s population being of Indian ethnicity according to the 2018 census.

Old Papatoetoe Shopping Centre was built in the 1960s, as part of the development of the town centre along Great South Road. It was one of the first malls in Auckland and featured a variety of shops, services and amenities for the local community. The mall was originally owned by a group of local businessmen, who formed a company called Old Papatoetoe Shopping Centre Ltd. The mall was later sold to a private investor in 2007. Old Papatoetoe Shopping Centre has 44 stores, offering a range of products and services, such as clothing, footwear, jewellery, electronics, books, stationery, gifts, health and beauty, pharmacy, travel, banking, postal and lottery. The mall also has a supermarket, a liquor store, a bakery, a butcher and a fruit and vegetable shop. The mall has several dining options, including cafes, restaurants and takeaway outlets. Some of the cuisines available are Indian, Chinese, Thai, Turkish, Italian and Kiwi. The mall also has a food court with seating for around 100 people. Old Papatoetoe Shopping Centre is open seven days a week, Monday - Sunday from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. Old Papatoetoe Shopping Centre has around 200 free parking spaces for customers and visitors. The parking area is accessible from St George Street or Wallace Road.
