Southmall Manurewa is a shopping centre located in Manurewa, a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand, located 24.7 kilometres south of the Auckland CBD. It is one of the first shopping centres to be constructed in New Zealand, and it has been serving the community since 1967. Southmall Manurewa is situated at 185 Great South Road, Auckland 2102, next to the Manurewa Train Station and bus interchange. It is easily accessible by public transport, car or bike. The centre has a large car park with over 1000 spaces, including disabled and parent parking.
The centre was developed by London-based Hammerson Property & Investment Trust, who had also developed the first mall in Auckland, LynnMall. It was opened in November 1967 with Farmers and Woolworths as the major tenants. It was Auckland’s third major mall after LynnMall and Pakuranga Town Centre. In 1987, the centre underwent a major renovation and became an enclosed centre. Since then, it has undergone several minor upgrades and changes to keep up with the changing needs and preferences of the customers and retailers. Southmall Manurewa is owned and managed by Livingstones Ltd, a privately owned property investment company based in Auckland.
Southmall Manurewa has 52 stores and services, offering a wide range of products and services to suit different needs and budgets, from fashion, health and beauty, jewellery to homeware, electronics, books, gifts, sports, travel and more. The centre also has a food court with various dining options. Southmall Manurewa is open seven days a week. The general opening hours are: Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am - 5pm.
