WestCity Waitakere is a major regional shopping centre located in Henderson, a suburb in Auckland, New Zealand. It is 15.9 kilometres west of the Auckland CBD, and is immediately adjacent to The Boundary, another shopping precinct. It is one of the largest shopping centres in the country, with a floor area of over 40 000 square metres and a market value of $192 million as of 2019. WestCity Waitakere was opened in 1974 as Westfield Shoppingtown Henderson, and was the first shopping centre in New Zealand to be developed by Westfield Group, an Australian-based property company that owns and operates shopping centres around the world. In 2015, Westfield sold the shopping centre to Stride Property Group, a New Zealand-based property company that also owns and manages other retail and office properties across the country. In 2017, the shopping centre was rebranded as WestCity Waitakere, as part of Stride’s strategy to create a distinctive identity for each of its properties.

WestCity Waitakere is home to over 109 stores, offering a wide range of products and services such as fashion, beauty, homeware, electronics, gifts, books, groceries and more. Some of the popular stores include Farmers, The Warehouse, Countdown, 2degrees, Cotton On, EB Games, Hallensteins, Jay Jays, Just Jeans, Michael Hill Jewellers, Millers, Pagani, Postie, Smiggle and Strandbags. WestCity Waitakere also has a variety of dining options to suit different tastes and budgets. You can find cafes, bakeries, fast food outlets, restaurants and bars that serve cuisines such as Asian, Indian, Mediterranean, Mexican and more. WestCity Waitakere is open seven days a week, the general opening hours are: Monday - Wednesday and Saturday: 9:00am - 6:00pm, Thursday and Friday 9:00am - 9:00pm and Sunday 10:00am - 5:30pm. WestCity Waitakere can be easily accessed by car or public transport. It has over 1 500 free car parks, including disabled and parent parking spaces. It is also close to the Henderson train station and bus interchange, which provide connections to other parts of Auckland.
