Golden Centre Mall is a premier shopping destination in the heart of Dunedin, New Zealand. It is located at 251 George Street, Dunedin 9016. It offers a variety of international, national and local stores selling homewares, gifts, shoes, beauty services, jewellery, books and stationery, gaming products, food and drinks and more. It is also home to Timezone family entertainment centre, which features arcade games, bowling, laser tag and more. Golden Centre Mall was opened in 1979 as the first enclosed shopping mall in Dunedin. It was originally owned by the Golden Centre Trust, a consortium of local businessmen and investors. In 1997, it was sold to AMP Capital Investors for NZ$30 million. In 2014, it was acquired by Colliers International for NZ$47 million on behalf of a private investor.
Golden Centre Mall has 20 stores, some of the major tenants include: Bed Bath N’ Table, Acquisitions, Boost Juice, EB Games, Savoury Japan, The Body Shop, Timezone, Venturi Café. Golden Centre Mall is open seven days a week. The opening hours are: Monday to Friday: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. It was the first enclosed shopping mall in Dunedin and the second in New Zealand after LynnMall in Auckland. Golden Centre Mall has its own car park at the rear of the building with level access to the mall. The car park has 180 spaces including mobility parking. The parking rates are: First hour free, $2 per hour thereafter, Maximum charge of $8 per day. The car park is open from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm from Monday to Thursday; from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm on Friday; from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm on Saturday; and from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm on Sunday. Golden Centre Mall is well connected by public transport. There are several bus stops nearby on George Street and Moray Place.
